7th Chakra
Fibre artist Patti Clark says she started 7th Chakra Designs “because there is a need for mindfulness-based healing in the world.” The business is her second career, as she was a mental health nurse in Manitoba for 35 years. She’s been involved in doing yoga, art, and holistic healing for years and firmly believes in buying local, supporting artisans and respecting the earth by avoiding buying mass produced goods.
Patti produces meditation cushions, yoga mat bags, all custom made. With each order she uses different techniques to make custom orders such as quilting, appliqué, rust-dying, tie-dying, embroidery and weaving. She has also been branching out into more environmentally friendly products like beeswax food wraps, and products that help reduce plastic use.
Patti is proud to say that she sources locally, natural and organic as much as possible. “My cushions are filled with buckwheat hull from a certified organic farm from a small town in Manitoba, my home province.”
She’s excited to share that she will be bringing something new to Saltscapes this year: her line of plastic replacement items. This will include mesh produce bags, beeswax food wraps, and market bags for those who want to reduce their environmental footprint by using less plastic and more reusable products.
