Fibre lovers, rejoice! In case you don’t have enough yarns in your stash, Natural Ewe Yarns is bringing along their collection of earth friendly fibres using natural botanical dyes. This mother-daughter due from Pictou County makes dyes using plant materials grown in their gardens or foraged in nature, as well as using more exotic barks and extracts from Canadian importers. They also carry ergonomic Kollage needles, eco-printed and upcycled aprons, shawls and bags…and did we mention the yarn? Merino, mohair, cotton, eco-sock (made with recycled nylon and organic wool for durability)

Of their unique colourways, the pair explain, “We hand-dye our yarns in small batches with love.  We have four different dye pot techniques. We submerge our yarns to create tonals, kettle dye with multiple ingredients to achieve swirls of colour, and dip-dye our cotton in indigo for an au naturel look. But our signature look is the nature-wrapped yarn, where you'll find bursts of colour and speckling.” Bet you can’t wait to check out these beautiful yarns for yourself at Expo!
