Gay Young-Rogers is a woman of many talents. She began making chainmaille jewellery as a hobby in 2007, which quickly moved into making her own lampwork beads to enhance some of her pieces. From her studio in Malagash, Nova Scotia, she works with crystals, lampwork beads, silver accents and Argentium silver and 14K gold filled wire to create her pieces, and you can find her at shows and markets around the province, as well as at selected shops.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Gay took up weaving in 2019, inspired by Faith Drinnan and Sisterhood Fibres in neighbouring Tatamagouche. Her handwoven scarves and shawls, table runners and tea towels, guitar and camera straps all sing with colour and texture.
We are so glad to see her back at Expo!
