Tracie’s Chainsaw Carvings
Some feint of heart might run; the wise would hang around to see the woman with the chain saw. Tracie Dugas loves wood. She started carving with chisels, and then decided that she wanted to do bigger and better things…that’s when the chainsaw entered the picture. From small wooden Santas she moved to bears, owls, roosters, eagles, wolves, and specialty creations.
Tracie works from her home, but travels around to shows like the Wharf Rat Rally in Digby. Pieces of her work can be found at various venues in Nova Scotia. She loves to see the reaction from people when they discover that she, not her husband, carved the pieces. Like so many of us Tracie remains anchored to the East Coast because of the people – in her words “we are awesome, genuine and friendly”.
We know that you’ll be intrigued by her at the Expo – and you may want a likeness done by her with her chainsaw!
