Mary Kay Love has been an artist for many years, showing in local galleries in the US; however, the siren call of Atlantic Canada lured her and her husband to New Brunswick five years ago, and she’s expanded into the world of fibre art.
She makes fabric collage art quilts, fabric ornamental pieces, fabric collage brooches, and some felted wool products, as well as beaded bracelets and art cards. Her work is created with materials she has collected over the years, some of which is upcycled, and with wool from Atlantic Canada for the felt work.
Mary Kay says, she is very excited about coming to Expo, to interact with people and make new contacts in her field of art, and just in general. You’ll be able to spot her work a long way off, as it shimmers with colour and sparkle. She adds, “Along with my fabric collage pieces, one of my most popular items is my Thermal Wine Tote, made from felted wool, since it’s very practical (keeping wine at temperature) and each is one of a kind.” These are as beautiful as they are practical, and sure to be very popular at Expo this year.
